Cresset announced today that it has hired Craig Abraham and Jon McCumber as Partners, Managing Directors and Wealth Advisors with Cresset’s Chicago office.
Craig Abraham
At Cresset, Abraham will work with a team of internal and external multidisciplinary experts to understand and improve upon client families’ entire wealth picture. This will include advising clients on strategic asset allocation decisions, as well as specific investment opportunities across public and private markets. In addition, Abraham will work with families on estate and wealth transfer strategy, financial planning, philanthropy, and banking and credit needs. Prior to joining Cresset, Abraham spent 17 years with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Chicago as Executive Director and Senior Banker. In that role he worked with business owners, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth clients to develop financial plans and banking strategies. Abraham earned both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Michigan State University. He lives in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago with his wife and twin boys and is active with a number of local charities and volunteers as a youth coach.
Jon McCumber
In his role with Cresset, McCumber will provide holistic advice across his clients’ balance sheets and develop custom-tailored investment portfolios. He takes pride in designing portfolios to satisfy unique financial plans and take advantage of opportunities when they arise. Prior to Cresset, McCumber was an Executive Director and Investment Specialist with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Chicago, serving business owners, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, financial professionals, and real estate investors. In that role, McCumber developed investment portfolios designed to help meet clients’ immediate spending needs, achieve long-term growth objectives, and accomplish wealth transfer strategies. Before that, he was a Research Associate with William Blair & Company, focusing on small and mid-sized technology investments. McCumber earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Pomona College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Chicago. He is married with two children and lives in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood.
