Senior Managing Director, Head of Family Enterprise Consulting
Scott brings over 25 years of experience working with families who desire to make a positive impact with their wealth for their family, business, and community. As senior managing director of family enterprise consulting, Scott leads a multi-disciplinary effort to bring clients a family-first approach to managing their wealth, including family education, governance, philanthropy, planning and accounting.
Prior to joining Cresset, Scott assembled and led a cross-disciplinary team at Ascent Private Capital Management of U.S. Bank that brought clients a values and mission-oriented offering, delivering family governance and legacy, wealth planning and CFO Services. He began his career in public accounting in the tax consulting groups of Arthur Andersen, LLP and Ernst & Young, LLP, later joining and managing wealth planning groups at various financial institutions, including the predecessor to Abbot Downing at Wells Fargo.
Scott is both a licensed CPA and attorney, holding a J.D. from Fisher College of Law at the Ohio State University, where he earlier earned his bachelor’s degree, majoring in accounting and finance. He also holds Series 7 and 63 licenses and a Life and Health Insurance license in Colorado.
Scott and his family love the outdoors. He, his wife and two grown boys can often be found on the ski slopes and mountain biking trails of Colorado. Additionally, he and his wife are active in several mountain-area non-profits and enjoy traveling and following the Ohio State Buckeyes.
