Michelle Gorrell serves as a Director, Advisor Practice Management at Cresset. In this role, she is responsible for strategic decision making, operations, project management, marketing, and other ongoing business initiatives.
She aims to continuously improve firmwide efficiencies, refining team processes to create operational efficacy and consistency, scaled growth, and an enhanced client experience. Drawing on her background in organizational alignment, she cultivates the team’s complementary strengths and skills to foster a culture of excellence and collaboration. These efforts have helped to create and maintain a work environment that supports long-term career growth and mentorship.
A skilled problem solver, Michelle excels in combining data-driven inputs, creative thinking, and sound judgment to develop solutions to ambiguous business challenges. She enjoys leading new initiatives and managing long-term projects to drive the firm toward greater scale and impact.
Before joining Cresset, Michelle served as a Vice President, Business Specialist at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management and worked at First Republic Private Wealth Management prior to that. Earlier in her tenure with First Republic, she served as the Business Enablement and Strategy Lead, collaborating directly with the executive team on an initiative to drive growth and partnership between the wealth management and banking divisions. Michelle began her wealth management career at Bernstein Private Wealth Management, ultimately becoming a Senior Managing Associate.
Michelle earned her B.S. in business administration, cum laude, with a concentration in finance and marketing from Chapman University. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
Michelle and her husband, Mike, live with their son in San Francisco. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family outdoors, including backpacking, kayaking, and bouldering. On weekends, Michelle can be found exploring small towns in the Bay Area or enjoying new restaurants.
