Dr. Steiner-Adair is an internationally recognized clinical psychologist, school consultant and author. In her award-winning book, The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family Relationships in the Digital Age (cited as a Wall Street Journal TOP 10 Best Non-Fiction 2013), Dr. Steiner-Adair examines ways in which the wonders of technology and media also change how children learn and grow, and she shows parents and educators how to reap the benefits of tech while reducing the risks it poses at every stage of child development.

While getting her doctorate at Harvard, Dr. Steiner-Adair began her career as a school psychol0gist and researcher while working at Phillips Academy Andover. Since then, she has consulted worldwide to over 600 independent and public schools and spokes at conferences on a wide range of topics including social and emotional intelligence, girl’s development, and best practices for technology at home, schools and work. Her audiences are students, educators, parent organizations, health professionals, corporations, non-profit organizations, government leaders and NGO’s.

Her earlier research on educating girls to lead and preventing eating disorders lead to the development of “Full of Ourselves: A Wellness Program to Advance Girl Power, Health, and Leadership,” the first successful currriculum of its kind, which is currently being translated for use in other countries.
Dr. Steiner-Adair has a private practice in Cambridge, MA. She serves on several Advisory Boards and until this fall, she was a Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Psychologist at McLean Hospital.
