Recorded on July 13, 2022.
Renowned political scientist Ian Bremmer believes that three looming crises threaten to upend and destabilize our world in the coming decades if we do not intervene in a methodical and thoughtful way as a global community.
As the president and founder of Eurasia Group, the world’s leading research and consulting firm, Bremmer believes that the triple threat of global health emergencies, climate change, and the AI revolution, coupled with our current domestic and international conflicts, could lead to global disaster if we do not take immediate action.
In his latest book, The Power of Crisis, Bremmer details his vision for the future, which includes new viruses more deadly than COVID, escalating climate change that will displace millions, and most ominously, new technologies that will disrupt the global order and destabilize society. Bremmer believes the situation is dire, but there is hope. Bremmer will discuss how some political leaders, business executives, and activists are already working together to confront these threats. In this session, Bremmer evaluates whether these solutions will be sufficient to effectively mitigate these risks before the situation worsens. He also shares a roadmap for surviving the upheaval and uncertainty of our current time, while helping us reimagine a better future.
