Cresset Capital People

Cresset has hired Alyse Reiser Comiter as Managing Director, Wealth Strategist with Cresset’s West Palm Beach office. In her role, Comiter will work with Cresset’s clients to develop holistic plans that bring together their financial needs and objectives to help achieve the desired impact, legacy, and purpose of their wealth.

Prior to joining Cresset, Comiter was a shareholder and attorney with Gunster, which is a full-service law firm serving the Florida market. At Gunster, Comiter practiced many aspects of estate planning and administration, including drafting estate planning documents, advising on fiduciary matters, and preparing and filing federal estate and gift tax returns.

Comiter is experienced in tax, wealth transfer, and asset protection planning techniques, such as irrevocable life insurance trusts, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, homestead trusts, and sales to intentionally defective grantor trusts. She has also advised clients on charitable giving and planning, including the establishment and administration of private foundations and other tax-exempt organizations. In addition, Comiter has counseled owners of closely held businesses on the organization, structure, and operation of business entities, as well as business-succession planning.

“It is an honor to be joining a firm as values-based and client-centric as Cresset. I am very much looking forward to working closely with Cresset’s client families to develop financial strategies that are holistic in nature and unique to their specific situations. It’s an ideal fit for me,” Comiter said.

Comiter earned an LL.M (Master of Laws) degree in Taxation from New York University and is a member of the Florida and New York state bars. She is board certified by the Florida Bar in Wills, Trusts and Estates and is also a certified public accountant (CPA). She is on the Executive Council of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar and is the Chair of the Section’s Artificial Reproductive Technology Committee.

Comiter is active philanthropically and is a member of the Professional Advisory Committee for the Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation and was a member of the inaugural class of the Young Leaders Society of the Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches. *She was named one of the “Up and Coming” in the Chambers High Net Worth guide in 2019, an “Up and Comer” by Florida Trend in 2017, and a “Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers from 2016-2020.

“Alyse brings a wealth of expertise to Cresset’s clients in the areas of wealth transfer, tax strategies, asset protection and more. We are thrilled to welcome her to the Cresset team,” said Bob Dunkin, Regional Managing Director for Cresset’s West Palm Beach office.

Comiter lives in Boca Raton, Florida, with her husband and their three-year-old twins.

Prior to joining Cresset, Alyse has received the following recognitions, none of which are associated with Cresset:

“Up and Coming” in the Chambers High Net Worth guide in 2019

An entrant’s firm submits an application for its attorneys to be ranked for specific practice areas.  Individual lawyers are ranked in their practice-area(s) on the basis of their legal knowledge and experience, their ability and their effectiveness at client service. Chambers interviews clients and other professionals, assesses recent work completed and completes internal analysis to determine rankings.

“Up and Comer” by Florida Trend in 2017

Lawyers were asked to name attorneys whom they hold in the highest regard or would recommend to others. Voters were also asked to name three “up and coming” attorneys, and in a separate category, outstanding attorneys working in the government and non-profit sectors. The resulting lists represent fewer than 1.3% of the active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida.

“Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers from 2016-2020

Lawyers enter the candidate pool by being formally nominated by a peer. Independent research by Super Lawyers evaluate each candidate based on peer recognition and professional achievement. No more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.
