Cresset Supports UNICEF’s Chicago Gala

Cresset is proud to sponsor this weekend’s UNICEF Gala in Chicago.

The event, now in its 11th year, has raised over $8 million to help children in more than 190 countries and territories. UNICEF saves children’s lives, defends their rights, and helps them fulfill their potential through nutrition, immunization, education, emergency relief, and other programs.

“UNICEF is the one organization that can reach children in need throughout the world to keep them healthy, safe, learning and thriving,” says Bill Dietz, vice chairman of the board for the Midwest region of UNICEF and president of Heartland Produce Co. “To solve a lot of the problems that we have in different parts of the world, we have to start with children and give the next generation what they need to make their homes more viable and successful.”

Dietz, who has been involved with UNICEF for 5 ½ years, says Saturday’s gala will feature a silent auction and a virtual reality experience that will help the 400-plus guests learn more about conditions in refugee camps. A 2016 UNICEF report found that the number of child refugees had jumped by 75% in the previous five years because of conflicts raging around the globe.

At Cresset, we are proud to support an organization like UNICEF because of the difference it is making in the lives of all children.
