John Schriver, CFA, CAIA
Partner and Managing Director
John is a Partner and Managing Director at Cresset. At Cresset, John provides customized advice to clients on all aspects of their wealth with a focus on asset allocation and investment manager selection. He is particularly adept at working with alternative investment managers given his tenure working with family office clients.
John joins us from BMO Wealth Management, where he spent 16 years with their ultra-high net worth division, CTC|myCFO. In that capacity, John worked as the lead investment manager for a number of clients including individuals and corporate executives, multi-generational families, as well as a number of larger family office relationships.
During his time at BMO, John was a key member of the firm’s Asset Allocation Committee which directed tactical investment decisions on over $30 billion of client assets. In addition, John chaired and co-created the firms Alternative Investment Committee and platform. As a result of John’s dedication to the business at BMO, he won multiple awards for client focus and sales effectiveness.
John received his BS with honors from Miami University in Oxford Ohio. He earned the Chartered Financial Advisor designation in 2006 and the Chartered Alternative Investment Advisor designation in 2009. He is an active member of the CFA Society of Chicago. John and his wife Kydie live in Chicago and have two vibrant children, John and Alice. When not chasing his kids around the house, John enjoys golf, having played competitively in high school and college.
