Mark Thompson is an Executive Managing Director, Institutional Consulting at Cresset.
Prior to joining Cresset, Mark was Managing Director and Head of Morgan Stanley Fiduciary Consulting Group based in New York. The Fiduciary Consulting Group was an institutional consulting business within Morgan Stanley that Mark launched in 2021 and grew it to over $200 billion through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth. Prior to launching the business, Mark served as Head of Strategy for Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Consulting businesses, including Graystone Consulting, Corporate Cash and Government Entities.
Previously, Mark was a Vice President on the Private Institutional Clients desk at Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James. He also served as an Assistant to the Chairman at Raymond James, where he worked on a variety of corporate strategy initiatives for the executive leadership team and board of directors. Earlier in his career, Mark held roles at Morgan Stanley, including serving on a leading wealth management team in Boston and in strategy and project management positions in New York.
Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and art history from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
