About

Robert Iverson is a Managing Director, Wealth Strategy in Cresset’s Chicago office. Robert partners with financial advisors and their clients to identify opportunities for moderating income and wealth transfer tax exposure. He is dedicated to developing a clear understanding of clients’ personal, financial, and philanthropic goals; providing meaningful education around relevant planning structures; and collaborating with outside tax and legal advisors to achieve efficient customized solutions.

Robert joined Cresset in 2025 after serving as an Executive Director and Wealth and Estate Planning Strategist at Morgan Stanley where he was the primary estate and wealth transfer tax planning resource for Private Wealth Advisors and their clients in Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Robert held a similar role as Director and Wealth Strategist at UBS Financial Services. 

Earlier in his career, Robert was a Vice President and Estate Tax officer at JPMorgan, preparing federal and state estate tax returns, estate tax returns for Qualified Domestic Trusts, fiduciary income tax returns, and Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax returns. He has also worked as an attorney in private practice with a focus on estate planning and business succession planning.

Robert earned an LL.M (Master of Laws) in Federal Taxation from The University of Washington School of Law in Seattle and a J.D. from The University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. He has a bachelor’s degree in architectural studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a member of the Illinois Bar.
