Cresset hires Whitney Webb as Director of Family Wealth Education

Webb is the founder of Launch Generation, an innovative program that supports financial literacy, leadership and entrepreneurship in teens

Chicago – January 30, 2019 — Cresset announced today that it has hired Whitney Webb as Director of Family Wealth Education. In her role, Webb will lead the development of family wealth education initiatives, which will include curriculum and programming around topics such as financial literacy, multi-generational engagement, leadership development, and money and relationships.

Webb recently served as Director of Operations for Independent Means, educating and preparing families for the responsibilities and challenges of wealth transfer.

Webb is also the founder of Launch Generation, a leading summer program for teenagers that is focused on financial literacy, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Designed for teens ages 14-18, Launch Generation is structured as a hybrid of a conference and a summer camp and introduces the skills teens need to think like, and eventually be, entrepreneurs. Launch Generation is offering two camps in 2019, one in San Diego and the other in Cambridge, UK.

Prior to her work in financial education, Webb served as a Kiva Fellow in Kigali, Rwanda, where she worked to strengthen partnerships and increase the reach of microfinance through employee training and industry research. She began her career with Porter Orlin hedge fund in New York City, where she performed investment research for the managing director.

Webb is the co-chair of the Nexus Working Group on Family Prosperity, a board member of Youth Interactive, which provides entrepreneurial and financial education for at-risk teens, and an advisor for the Ruth and Hal Launders Charitable Trust. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.
