Cresset announced today the addition of three experienced financial advisors in the Atlanta region. Jack Sawyer, J.D., Michael Mohr, CFA, and Todd Tautfest have joined Cresset from Wilmington Trust. The team will be based in Atlanta and will serve local clientele in addition to clients across the country.
Sawyer joins Cresset as Managing Director. He most recently served as Southeast Region President for Wilmington Trust and was responsible for leading wealth advisory services in Georgia, including planning, trusts, investment management, family office and private banking services.
Sawyer brings extensive experience in charitable planning, trusts, estates, and private foundations, and is also a fiduciary attorney. He serves on the boards of directors for several organizations, including Andee’s Army, Nsoro Foundation, High Museum of Art, and the Georgia Museum of Art. Sawyer received the American Jewish Committee’s National Human Relations Award in 2011, and was honored by the board of the Atlanta History Center at the Swan House Ball in 2009. He was also honored by the National Black Arts Festival in 2014, and the United Negro College Fund in 2016. Sawyer earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
“It is truly an honor to be joining a firm as innovative and disruptive as Cresset. I couldn’t agree more with Cresset’s philosophy that wealth management clients today deserve better. It’s why I am so excited to be joining Cresset,” Sawyer said.
Mohr joins Cresset as Managing Director. He previously held the position of Managing Director, Southeast Region for Wilmington Trust, where he was responsible for leading investment advisory services for high-net-worth clients and managed the firm’s advisors in Georgia.
Mohr has more than 25 years of experience in portfolio management and is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Institute. He is also a member of the Finance Council of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta, where he chairs the investment committee. Mohr earned a bachelor’s degree from Furman University and an MBA from Georgia State University.
Tautfest also joins Cresset as Managing Director. Prior to Cresset, he was Managing Director, Southeast Region for Wilmington Trust, where he worked with high-net-worth clients, business owners, foundations, and endowments. Tautfest has nearly 30 years of experience in wealth management.
In addition to being a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, Tautfest is a board member with The NAMES Project Foundation, which is the custodian of The AIDS Memorial Quilt, and Open Hand. He is a past board member of the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia. Tautfest earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Jack, Michael, and Todd to Cresset. They embody our innovative spirit and commitment to put clients first. Given their deep commitment to the Atlanta community, we’re excited to partner with them in serving their hometown,” said Doug Regan, Cresset Co-Chairman and Founding Partner.
Since its founding less than three years ago, Cresset has grown to more than $6 billion in assets under management and seven offices across the United States.
