Clay is a Director, Private Markets at Cresset. In this role, he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring private equity investments.
Prior to joining Cresset, Clay was a Director on the Private Equity team at CH Investment Partners. Before that, Clay was on the investment team of the Private Equity Solutions group at ORIX, where he was responsible for the analysis of new and existing middle market private equity investments. During his time at ORIX, he served as a Board Director for two of the firm’s portfolio companies, Alliance Environmental Services and Davlyn Manufacturing. Clay began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at MHT Partners, where he focused on sell-side engagements in the education, industrial, and business services industries.
Clay earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Texas and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Clay was a recipient of the Jefferson Fellowship and earned the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence during his time at Darden.
