Leah Barr is Managing Director, Philanthropy at Cresset. She brings more than a decade of experience in philanthropy, community partnerships, and nonprofit leadership. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Social Impact at NorthRock Partners, where she guided clients through the discovery, design, and implementation of their charitable goals. In that role, she led and operated private foundations on behalf of clients, serving as Executive Director for several and working alongside tax, legal, and compliance professionals to help bring each family’s vision to life. She also helped clients establish new foundations, facilitated multi-generational family conversations about giving, developed endowment investment policies for nonprofits, and designed corporate giving and employee engagement programs.
Before NorthRock, Leah led community outreach and partnerships for MedExpress, overseeing programs across more than 85 urgent care centers in four states and building relationships with national nonprofits including Girls on the Run, the YMCA, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. She also worked in community relations with the Minnesota Twins, where she helped distribute more than 250,000 donated tickets to 200 nonprofit partners, and began her career with the American Cancer Society as a Relay For Life Community Manager.
