Lucas Huizar serves as Executive Managing Director, General Counsel at Cresset, where he oversees legal affairs across the firm’s lines of business and provides strategic counsel in support of Cresset’s continued growth.
Lucas has more than 20 years of legal experience at the intersection of financial services, technology, and regulation. Before joining Cresset, Lucas was Head of Retirement, Legal at Gusto, a role he assumed after Gusto acquired Guideline. He previously served as General Counsel of Guideline, a high-growth retirement platform, where he led legal and regulatory strategy, risk management, and compliance oversight as a member of the executive team. Earlier in his career, he served as General Counsel of CircleUp Network and as Senior eCommerce and Policy Counsel at Electronic Arts. He began his career as a litigation associate at Farella Braun + Martell LLP in San Francisco.
Lucas earned a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis.
