Richard Schwartz, CPA is a Director, Tax Services and specializes in tax guidance and planning for high-net-worth individuals and their businesses. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Richard brings more than a decade of experience in tax compliance and consulting and is licensed in both Virginia and California.
Before joining Cresset, Richard served in the Private Client Services Group at BDO, where he focused on high-net-worth individuals and families. He began his career at a Big 4 accounting firm and later spent several years at a boutique tax firm. He has extensive experience with both personal taxes and complex entities, including corporate and flowthrough structures.
Originally from Virginia, Richard graduated with honors from the College of William and Mary with a double major in finance and history. He also received his Master of Accounting from William and Mary.
Outside of work, you can find Richard reading science fiction and fantasy novels, hiking in and around San Francisco, specifically in the Presidio, and going to concerts and local sporting events. He resides in San Francisco with his wife and two amazing, albeit misbehaving, cats, Winston and Rory.
