Robert Woessner, CFA, CAIA, FRM

Director, Investment Strategy

Robert is a Director of Investment Strategy at Cresset and collects information, performs research, and analyzes assets for potential inclusion in client portfolios. His primary responsibilities include assisting in portfolio asset allocation decisions and manager due diligence, with an interest in macroeconomic indicators and statistical modeling.

Prior to Cresset, Robert worked for Berman Capital Advisors as an Investment Analyst. Before that, he spent three years on the Investment Team with Balentine, LLC, in Atlanta, where he focused on investment recommendations for client portfolios, as well as proprietary model creation and maintenance. Prior to Balentine, Robert spent three years as a Senior Accountant/Market Analyst at GenOn (formerly Mirant Energy), where he was responsible for reconciling derivative and power generation contracts with financial counterparties.

Robert graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He holds master’s degrees from Georgia State University in Finance and from Georgia Institute of Technology in Statistics.

Robert holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), the Financial Risk Management (FRM), and the Certificate in Quantitative Finance designations. He is also a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts and the Atlanta chapter of the CAIA Association.

Robert, his wife, Susan, and their two daughters live in Atlanta. Robert is a former Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal during his deployment in Falluja, Iraq. He enjoys following Atlanta sports teams (no matter how bad they are), reading, and experiencing different foods and cultures across the world.
