Sarah Hughes, Director of Family Governance, applies her clinical and professional experience to foster strong communication, trust, and multigenerational resilience within the families she serves. Sarah is a licensed clinical social worker based in New York. She has extensive experience working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families. Sarah’s career spans more than two decades, beginning with a key role as Head of Investor Services at Amici Capital, where she supported the firm’s investor relations, compliance, and strategic partnerships. Transitioning to clinical practice, she has since provided specialized treatment for complex family dynamics, addressing the unique challenges of wealth transfer, family communication, and next-generation planning.

In her private practice, Sarah worked closely with individuals, couples, and families, helping them establish sturdy relationships, navigate life transitions, and cope with a range of human issues. She has worked as a facilitator and coach to support multigenerational families, guiding them through educational planning, emotional resilience, and strategic family governance. This expertise allows her to advise on everything from leadership training and financial literacy to philanthropic decision-making and conflict resolution.

Sarah’s education includes a Master of Social Work (MSW) from New York University, where she graduated cum laude. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and political science from the University of Delaware.  Sarah serves as a practicum instructor for MSW candidates in clinical training at NYU.
