About

Sarah Ponczek-Van Camp, CFP®, CIMA®, is a Managing Director, Wealth Advisor at Cresset, where she advises ultra-high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, executives, and multigenerational families. She works closely with clients to develop investment strategies that reflect their broader financial circumstances, including concentrated positions, private investments, business interests, estate-planning considerations, and long-term family goals.

Sarah is particularly passionate about helping families prepare the next generation for the responsibilities that accompany significant wealth. She regularly leads educational conversations with clients’ children and grandchildren, helping them understand financial markets, investing, and the family’s broader wealth strategy. Her ability to connect with multiple generations allows families to engage their future heirs early and approach wealth transfer with greater confidence and purpose.

Before entering wealth management, Sarah spent several years at Bloomberg analyzing and reporting on global financial markets across Bloomberg News, Television and Radio, experience that continues to shape her ability to interpret complex market developments and communicate them clearly to clients. She has shared her perspectives on capital markets and investing through national media, including Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business, Forbes and Barron’s, and at industry events such as MoneyShow conferences and the 2025 NCAA Women’s Final Four1.

Sarah has been named to Forbes’ Best-in-State Wealth Advisors, Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors Best-in-State, and Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-in-State lists2. In 2026, Forbes profiled her journey from Bloomberg financial journalist to wealth advisor, highlighting her work educating and preparing younger generations for the stewardship of significant family wealth.

Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. She holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation through the Investments & Wealth Institute’s executive education program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
