Janet Dougherty is a Managing Director, Wealth Advisor at Cresset. Janet works with clients to help them reach their family’s wealth goals considering both their financial and human capital. Prior to Cresset, she spent 15 years at JPMorgan’s Private Bank as a Senior Investment Specialist working primarily with corporate executives, private equity, hedge fund, real estate and proprietary trading professionals on their personal investments, as well as private endowments and foundations on their institutional assets.
She was a member of a number of JPMorgan’s Private Bank’s senior initiatives to continually improve the client and advisor experience. Janet also acted as the Midwest media relations representative speaking on behalf of the firm’s investment practice to various news outlets. Prior to JPMorgan, Janet worked at Lehman Brothers’ Investment Banking Division covering clients in the Industrials and the Financial Sponsors space.
Janet received her BA in Chemistry from Barnard College, Columbia University and her MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business’ full-time program. Janet holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society Chicago. Janet serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, a front-line responder to reports of sexual and physical abuse of children in the city. She is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.
