Cresset Adds Advisor Team in Denver

Cresset announced today the addition of two wealth advisors to its Denver office. Gus Spaulding and Peter Sherlock have joined Cresset from Bank of America Private Bank and will serve Cresset’s clients in the Mountain region.


Peter Sherlock

As Managing Director, Wealth Advisor, Sherlock will work with clients to build investment portfolios that help them achieve their financial goals. Specifically, he will advise clients on estate planning, wealth transfer, financial planning, philanthropic endeavors, and credit needs.

In his previous role with Bank of America Private Bank in Denver, Sherlock worked primarily with family offices and helped private business owners navigate issues that arise prior to and after the sale of a business. Before joining Bank of America, Sherlock led J.P. Morgan’s energy team for the Rocky Mountain Region and worked with some of the largest energy families throughout the region. Under his guidance, the team managed more than $1 billion in client assets.

Sherlock received a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Emory University and a master’s degree in International Business from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He also earned a law degree from Emory University and is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Colorado. Sherlock has served on the board of Citizen of the West and currently works with Christ in the City and volunteers at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

 

Gus Spaulding

Spaulding also joins Cresset as a Managing Director, Wealth Advisor and will work with clients to help them identify and reach their wealth goals. He will provide advice on multi-generational wealth transfer, financial planning, philanthropic endeavors, banking, and credit needs. For clients with investment management needs, Spaulding will design customized solutions in both public and private markets.

Previously with Bank of America Private Bank, Spaulding was responsible for developing and managing relationships with private business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, high-net-worth families, and philanthropic institutions.

Spaulding is the President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Exit Planning Institute (EPI). He also holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation from EPI, which is one of the most widely accepted and endorsed professional exit planning programs in the world.

Spaulding earned a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, with a major in Economics and a minor in Sociology. He is also an alumnus of the Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation and the Teach for America Colorado Champions Circle.
