Alex Smith has joined Cresset’s San Francisco office as Managing Director, Wealth Advisor. Smith will advise Cresset’s clients on their overall balance sheet, including private and public investments, credit and liquidity needs, and estate and charitable planning. He specializes in working with financial principals, real estate investors, entrepreneurs, executives of public and private companies, and high-net-worth families.
“Client expectations are evolving, and the demand for transparent, bespoke solutions across the balance sheet continues to grow. Cresset has brought together the talent, technology, and culture to exceed those expectations and set a new bar for wealth management. I’m honored to be part of the team driving that change,” Smith said.
Prior to Cresset, Smith spent more than 11 years with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in New York and San Francisco.
Smith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Management Information Systems from the University of Delaware. He is an active member with Larkin Street Youth Services, which is a Bay Area nonprofit that assists at-risk youth to get off the streets through housing, education, and work programs.
Smith and his wife, Emily, live in San Francisco with their dog, Elsie. On the weekends they enjoy spending time at Lake Tahoe, exploring wine country, or taking on home improvement projects.
