CHICAGO – April 25, 2024 – Cresset announced today that it has hired Susie Cranston as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). With more than 20 years of financial services leadership experience, Cranston has held executive positions at JPMorgan Chase & Co., First Republic Bank, and McKinsey & Company. In her most recent role, she served as Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, and Head of Integration for JPMorgan Chase.
Cranston brings an extensive background in operations, technology, sales management, and strategy. She built First Republic’s Private Wealth Management business from $30 billion at the time she joined the firm to $275 billion when she was named COO. Cranston also oversaw the effort to consolidate multiple legacy systems and platforms that were not scalable and converted them into best-in-class solutions. In addition, she was responsible for hiring, managing, and retaining First Republic advisors, which included some of the biggest wealth management teams in the country.
“Susie has exactly the background and experience to further Cresset’s growth as a leading multi-family office. Most importantly, she is an incredible cultural fit for Cresset. She shares our values of continuous curiosity, optimistic energy, and is very much results focused, always with a client-first mentality,” said Eric Becker, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Cresset.
“I am thrilled to join the Cresset team and lend my experience to a firm that is so aligned with its clients’ best interests. To join an organization that has been built by clients, for clients, and where every team member is an owner is incredibly exciting,” Cranston said.
Cranston has been honored as a “Forever Influential” in the San Francisco business community, has been named one of the “Most Influential Women in Business” by the San Francisco Business Times three times, and is the author of the book “How Remarkable Women Lead.”
