Instead of investing in general accounts of life insurers or in state registered mutual funds my fiduciary mindset led me to realize that the cash value within life insurance policies would be more optimally managed by investment professionals. However, the solution I was looking for had already been developed in the early 80s. As Charles Duell purportedly said during his tenure as United States Commissioner of Patents in 1889,“Everything that can be invented has been invented.” The same was already true of my idea. This invention is Private Placement Life Insurance or PPLI.
